AskHR

AskHR portal was developed in collaboration with the Division of Information Technology and is a ServiceNow platform designed to streamline your access to HR information and support. The AskHR portal provides many benefits to support our customers such as:

  1. Robust AI technology that helps employees find answers quickly
  2. Easily accessible and organized knowledge articles that are searchable
  3. Replaces slow email processes and decreases resolution times
  4. Allows employees to open cases with UHR for assistance quickly
  5. Increases visibility by providing alerts and case tracking to the employee
  6. Allows for secure upload or transmission of sensitive documentation to UHR
  7. Departmental professionals can submit cases on behalf of someone else and include others who need to be updated
  8. Provides UHR leadership with actionable insights and metrics to identify trends and improvement areas

The AskHR portal launched last month to departmental HR professionals and is now available to UMD College Park employees effective October 1, 2023. As part of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve our customer service, we will be regularly monitoring the questions that are submitted within the portal and create additional content to support our employees. As we transition to the AskHR portal, we will be replacing several of our email boxes as the portal will more efficiently help our employees obtain information in a consistent platform.
